Meet SULA's Principal Miriam Rosa

Dear Parents and Families of SUL.A MS 322,

My name is Miriam Rosa, the Principal of Salomé Ureña Leadership Academy (MS 322). I am excited to join this amazing staff and school community. As principal, my vision and purpose is to lead a school grounded in providing our students a well-rounded education inclusive of strong academic expectations, development of leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, proper guidance, and student interest. I firmly believe every child has the ability to become successful productive citizens ready to lead and compete globally given the tools, proper instruction and guidance by a cohesive, supportive and collaborative school community. In my 16 years as an educator, I have witnessed great success and fruitful outcomes for students, largely in part to the collaboration amongst staff, parents, and students.

The best schools are the result of excellent teachers and staff. Our amazing teachers and staff members will prepare our students to meet the demands and supersede the challenges in this digital and remote learning time. By embracing this new normal in education, our students will be well prepared for high school and beyond. My primary goal is to continue to support our teachers, staff and students of Salomé Ureña Leadership Academy with the tools needed to be successful. With the help of our CBO partner, Children’s Aid Society, and our parents and families, our secondary goal is to learn and implement strategies to meet the needs of students in the area of adolescent development during these formative years of youth development.

I look forward to the work we will do together. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

Sincerely,

Miriam Rosa, Principal
